About the Author

Terry M. Adair, DDS is an oral and maxillofacial radiologist, author, and energy-literacy advocate whose work bridges science, philosophy, and humanity’s long-term future. His professional journey began at the University of California, San Francisco, where he earned his dental degree in 1987. He practiced general dentistry in Sacramento, California for more than twenty-six years before returning to academic training in 2017 to pursue advanced certification in oral and maxillofacial radiology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he served as Chief Resident.

Today, Dr. Adair resides in Incline Village at Lake Tahoe – a landscape that reflects the themes that run through his writing: resilience, balance, and the search for deeper meaning beneath the surface of everyday life. Outside of clinical work, he maintains an active multi-sport lifestyle that includes triathlon training, open-water swimming, paddle boarding, mountain biking, snowboarding, boating and travel. A father of four adult children, he shares his home with his constant companion, Maxwell the cat – often present during late-night writing sessions and early-morning reflections.

The Birth of Where Are the Little Green Men? emerged from Dr. Adair’s lifelong fascination with physics, cosmology, evolutionary biology, and humanity’s place in the universe. The book explores one of science’s most enduring questions – the Fermi Paradox – through a lens rarely emphasized in mainstream discussions: energy. Rather than asking only “Where is everyone?”, Dr. Adair reframes the question to examine whether advanced civilizations may be limited not by imagination or intelligence, but by the harsh realities of energy availability, thermodynamics, and survivability. This perspective, often referred to as the Adair Hypothesis, proposes that long-term technological civilizations must solve not only the problem of emergence, but the far more difficult challenge of sustained energetic stability.

Fusion Star Project – From Ideas to Action represents Dr. Adair’s commitment to advancing global energy literacy, humanitarian self-reliance, and responsible technological development. Built on the belief that energy security is the foundation of human flourishing, dignity, stability, and progress, the Fusion Star Project aims to promote realistic pathways toward sustainable and reliable energy systems, encourage staged energy development, support developing regions in achieving resilient energy independence, and inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and thinkers to view energy as the lifeblood of civilization.

Whether reading CBCT radiology cases, training along the shores of Lake Tahoe, or drafting new chapters late into the night, Dr. Adair approaches life with a guiding principle: that knowledge should serve humanity. His writing reflects a quiet conviction that even small contributions help move the great human story forward.
